What is a Cuddle Party™?

Cuddle Parties are affectionate play events for adults, designed to provide a space to explore and enjoy touch, nurturing and communication without it becoming sexualized. Some of us remember that floor full of puppy-piled kids camped out in front of the TV when we were young. Somewhere between age 13 and now, we stopped getting our Recommended Daily Allowance of Welcomed Touch. Cuddle Parties seek to change that for adults in a way that's conscious, healthy, fun and responsible.

The Cuddle Party Process

Everyone attends a Cuddle Orientation that explains the philosophy of non-sexualized touch.
Participants wear conservative pajamas; no provocative clothing or nudity is tolerated. No one is forced to cuddle if she or he does not wish to do so.  Everyone must ask permission to be near or touch another participant, and kissing is as far as intimate activity can go.  “NO” always means no, “MAYBE” always means no, and “YES” can change to no without questions being asked.   No one may remove clothing during cuddling.

In the event of inappropriate groping, participants will be asked to leave by one of the facilitators. Hygiene practices that are considerate of others are required. There is no drug or alcohol use allowed before or during parties. If there's a concern, problem, or question or if participants feel unsafe or need assistance with anything during the Cuddle Party, there are facilitators available. Crying and giggling are both welcomed and encouraged.  There are “no strings attached” at the end of the Party.

With these boundaries protected, we all feel free to connect with one another. Participants feel respected in their ability to define their own limits, and welcome to express their own healthy desire to cuddle. And we all have a fun, warm, heartful time together.

Group size is limited to 35 people each night. All participants must be 18 years of age or older.

Cost:  $30/person per night. Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided.

Attire: You can change when you arrive, after the orientation. Bring pajamas - nothing too risqué. Think more comfy than sexy. (More drawstrings, less lace, no shorts!). T-shirts and sweats are great.

What to Bring: A pillow or blanket or stuffed animal if you want. Bring a bottle of sparkling cider or some tea or juice, etc. to drink or food to eat if you have special dietary needs. No liquor or drugs. The idea is to be present.

The Next Cuddle Party will be held on Friday, July 25! RSVP to candessa@MsLaViesSchool.com or to 612-825-0886 to reserve your space.
